MLB salutes the Centennial of the Negro Leagues. Lauren Meyer visits the broadcast booth.

August 16, 2020

MLB tips their collective caps to the centennial of the founding of The Negro Leagues. Every player on every team and every coach, manager and umpire wore a special patch on their chest honoring the men (and women) who played in the Negro Leagues in a time when baseball and America were legally segregated.

On this special day, Director Lauren Meyer received an invitation to join Todd Kalas and Geoff Blum in the Houston Astros broadcast booth. Due to the pandemic it was a virtual visit, but it was a joy none the less.
